The Zapple is a fully Foil Drive compatible board! The board was designed together with the Foil Drive team to make sure the board fits the Foil Drive seamlessly to minimize water turbulence. Its recessed layout reduces drag and keeps the battery weight closer to your feet, giving you greater control during tight turns and high-speed runs.

Product Description

Fully optimised for foil driving, and in collaboration with the team at Foil Drive, Appletree have thought of everything with the Zapple. In their signature vacuum-packed carbon lay-up the board is super durable, shaped for maximum efficiency meaning you can ride a smaller board with mid-length glide. The foil tracks are placed relatively far forward, making the board feel even smaller and reducing any swing weight. The nose acts as a signal window, removing any remote control signal interference sometimes experienced on carbon boards.

The trench is carefully designed to house the Foil Drive unit for a clean finish, but also to speed up battery switching so it takes no longer than a non-trench board. The board comes with deck pad with a kick tail, and inserts for footstraps if preferred.

What SUP North thinks

We were excited to get the Zapple on the water, with the 5’4 46 litre model ticking all of our requirement/wishlist boxes from over 12 months of Foil Driving experience. Even on a quick flat water session it’s clear how good the riding mechanics are on this board – it feels much more similar to riding a regular foil board when pumping due to the improved weight distribution. Much less drag when the board touches down, and much easier to level the board off as soon as you’re up on foil and ready to glide. Looking forward to getting it in waves and wake!
