Generally the lake can be used any time daily. A calendar with events including any full or part closures will be sent by email, along with a map showing the usual route of the jet boat and the designated waterski area, and a list of lake rules. Please note, a PFD or buoyancy aid must be worn by all paddlers.
At weekends and during school holidays there are motor boats and pedalos at the south end from around 11am to 6pm. For safety we are not allowed to paddle past the pier into that area any time those boats are operating, even if outside those times. Please read the rules for the lake which you will be sent via email.
Parking by Southport Watersports boathouse is available to use while paddling only and if there is space. Enforcement is by camera and in person – licence sticker must be displayed on dashboard while parked – failure to do this may result in a parking fine. Parking is available at Lakeside Church, with the exception of Sundays when no parking is allowed before 2pm.
