The Tiki Tour is on the way to Southport! On Tuesday 23rd and Wednesday 24th of June we’ll have a van load of Starboard stand up paddle boards and paddles for you to try – a first for Southport!
Starboard is one of the biggest SUP brands in the world, and makes some of the most progressive and successful boards around – Starboard team riders are very often found on the podium at both SUP surfing and race events. Lucy, Alan and Simon are Starboard UK national team riders, because we’re passionate about the brand and sharing the stoke for stand up paddle boarding!
On the Tiki Tour you’ll find Starboard Astro inflatables and hard boards to suit all SUP styles, from beginners to experts including the brand new 2016 Hyper Nut surf shape and Starboard all-round favourites like the 10’5 Drive and 11’2 Blend. All will be available for demo. If you have tried stand up paddle boarding before, we can give you a quick introduction before you hit the water. We’ll also have the giant 18’6″ Starboard Starship for team paddling!
Tuesday’s Starboard demo takes place on Southport marine lake, kindly hosted by Southport Sailing Club. It kicks off at 4 and will finish at 9. There’s free parking, changing facilities and the bar will be open! On Wednesday we’ll be in the grounds of the impressive Scarisbrick School Hall, paddling on the lake from 4pm till 9, so it’s not only a chance to try loads of boards, but also to paddle in a new location.
SUP Polo!
SUP Polo is the latest craze, and we got to try it out at the Starboard World Dealers’ Meeting in Spain last September. On both demo days we’ll have an inflatable pitch and specially designed SUP Polo paddles and inflatable boards for a match – this is loads of fun and a good test of your board skills. Dress to get wet!
